About International Rental News (IRN)

International Rental News (IRN) is written for equipment rental companies worldwide. Our readers operate in sectors including construction, general industry and events, and rent equipment including construction machines and tools, aerial platforms and telehandlers, portable accommodation, shoring equipment, and power and heating and cooling equipment.

In addition to reporting on the products that are used in rental, IRN covers the business activities of rental companies, such as growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions and rental management topics. A key feature of the magazine is regular interviews with senior rental managers. Former Lavendon Group CEO Kevin Appleton is a regular columnist and each year the magazine publishes the IRN100, an exclusive list of the largest 100 equipment rental companies in the world.

The magazine was founded 20 years ago as European Rental News but was rebranded as International Rental News in 2006 with an expanded, worldwide circulation. It is also the official magazine of the European Rental Association (ERA).

IRN organises the annual European Rental Awards, in cooperation with the European Rental Association, and carries out the quarterly ERA/IRN RentalTracker survey of rental industry business confidence in Europe, also run jointly with the ERA.

In addition to its eight print issues a year, IRN has its own website and a weekly newsletter. The magazine organises the annual International Rental Conference (IRC) in China and is one of the organisers of the International Rental Exhibition (IRE), held every three years in the Netherlands.
