Trade Plant Hire app launches in UK
01 July 2021
A new App that allows contractors to find and compare construction equipment from a pool of rental companies has been launched in the UK.
The free-to-use Trade Plant Hire App is designed to help small and medium-sized businesses by providing listings of products - such as mini excavators, skips and other mid-sized equipment - “based on their needs, budget and location”.
According to the App’s developer and owner, Trade Plant Hire Ltd (TPH), the platform means users will no longer have to search individual rental websites to find the equipment they need.
While many rental companies have launched Apps for their customers, TPH said its App aims to “benefit both hire companies and tradespeople”.
Dr Ivan Yardley, CEO of TPH, said; “Because it is simple and effective to use, we believe that the app will become the essential tool you’ll want to have on your phone or device”.
For rental companies wanting to offer products, the App incorporates inventory management features including hire tracking, dynamic pricing and payment checking.
Suitable for installation on both smartphones and tablets, the App was funded by a consortium of investors that includes the former rugby union international, Tim Stimpson.
Now a director of TPH, Stimpson said: “This App is a disruptor and completely built around the needs of local tradespeople by simplifying and streamlining what can be an incredibly time consuming and frustrating process.
“At the moment you might have to visit several different websites for quotes on a variety of hire equipment, only to find an item either unavailable or at a depot 50 miles away.
“This platform is a real gamechanger as it allows users to source equipment at a competitive price via their mobile phone.”
