Platformers’ Days - in review

As one would expect, Germany’s largest distributors were showing their wares at the show. One of them, Kunze represents a range of manufacturers, including Platform Basket, Paus, Socage and Turkey-based ELS Lift, which was on the stand with its Junior 4.5 compact scissor lift. Low level access was one of the themes at the show as OEMs seek greater market penetration of this product type.

Rothlehner distributes a range of equipment from Europelift, Easy Lift and GSR, and has been the owner of Denka-Lift trailer mounted platforms since 2013. The company mainly focuses on the end user with its equipment, rather than rental, in the utility, industrial, cleaning and tree care sectors, among others. Rothlehner announced at the show that Europelift will launch a new 21m working height trailer mount in the near future, to top its range from 13m working height. The Europelift complements the Denka-Lift range, which runs from 18m to 30m, and therefore means the new Europelift encroaches into the Denka area slightly. The new machine will be CE certified this October.

Platformers’ Days had a demonstration area where manufacturers were showing the finer points of their equipment including the offroad capabilities of the tracked ATDE 27.12 from Hirax.

Low level access specialist Faraone was at the show for the first time with its updated Elevah E6 Move stock picker. The manufacturer’s largest customer is the non-contruction end user, but it said it needed to make the wider German MEWP market aware of its existence.

PB Lift’s new upgraded scissor

PB Lift showed a new version of its S180-19E 4X4. The manufacturer was also promoting its new patented jacking system, which sees the forces concentrated down vertically through them.

Oil & Steel Snake 147.

The Snake 147 pick up mount from Oil & Steel is new in Germany. One of its key features is that it can work on a 5 degree slope, using its outriggers, which is above the industry standard of 3 degrees.

Teupen’s new outrigger configuration

Teupen will launch the Leo 27GT Plus in the second quarter next year. The model will have a 250kg basket load and a moveable jib to 165 degrees. At 3.5 tonnes it is designed to be a light machine with good performance. Up and over clearance is 12m, and there are three standard outrigger positions, with a fourth that incorporates the front in wide position and the rear stabilisers in narrow formation. First shown as a prototype at Bauma, the initialunit is likely to got to the US.

Grun Lift’s Nav 4.5

Grun Lift is a new company formed less than a year ago from the existing Alp Lift, solely for the German market. It sells the same compact lifts as its parent company, which produces them in the Netherlands, and was set up because German customers prefer to buy from a German company, it said. It was showing the 4.5m working height Nav 4.5.

Zoomlion’s first spider lift.

Zoomlion has a range of new equipment set for launch in the near future, and its stand a Platformers’ Days included the manufacturer’s first spider lift and crawler mounted scissor lift. The company will also launch five telehandlers in Europe by the end of this year, along with a truck mount. In October, a zero oil scissor series will be introduced.

Magni had a big presence at the show, as it represents both its own telehandlers and sells Dingli MEWPs under its own brand name. Here Magni was demonstrating the 454kg basket on a hybrid telescopic HTB42RT boom lift, owned by System Lift.

JLG concentrated on its Power Towers brand.

JLG was concentrating on its low level access portfolio specifically from the Power Towers brand that it acquired in 2017. There were a number of Power Towers on the stand including the new DSP-L stock picker.
