Atlas Copco completes asphalt plate range

Equipment supplier Atlas Copco’s construction tools division has launched its first 60 kg asphalt plate compactor with an integrated water distribution system.

According to the company, the LF60 LA/LAT compactor is extremely flexible and easy to handle, thanks to its light weight, which enables a new way of working on asphalt.

As well as providing greater freedom for the operator, it is easier to transport, which makes it a valuable tool for almost any maintenance task.

”With the success of today’s range of asphalt plates – LF75, LF80, LF100 – we are now completing the range with a 60 kg class plate,” said Kjell Helgesson, Atlas Copco’s light compaction product and application specialist.

Until now, the company’s proven water distribution system has only been reserved for larger models. One of its big advantages is that it frees up valuable time that previously went to bottom plate cleaning, pipe cleaning and other time-wasting maintenance jobs.

Mr Helgesson added: ”A great benefit with our water distributor system is that it leaves no marks on asphalt. The design and shape of the bottom plate makes it easy to turn, and it is also equipped with our patented low vibration handle.”

The Atlas Copco product range includes compressors, construction and mining equipment and power tools. It employs 44000 people worldwide and group revenues in 2014 were more than SEK 90 billion (€10 billion).

The construction tools division is part of the Construction Technique business and is based in Germany.
