HD Hyundai has launched a range of silenced hydraulic breakers, the company has revealed.
Known as the HRB Series, the line of hydraulic hammers for wheeled and crawler excavators comprises six models in total, which are suitable for carrier machines ranging from 1.2 to 25 tonnes.
The standout attribute of the HRB hammers is that they have been designed specifically for use on urban job sites, and feature silenced box housings that reduce external noise levels.
Other key features include a urethane damper that prevents vibrations from being transmitted to the carrier machine, which HD Hyundai says protects it from damage and wear, and also improves operator comfort.
In addition, HD Hyundai said: “They have a urethane damper to prevent vibration being transmitted to the carrier machine, reducing wear and improving operator comfort.
“The front head assembly also incorporates a bushing to reduce shocks from the working tool.”
The smaller work tools in the range, the HRB030, HRB040 and HRB050, are suitable for machines weighing 1.2 to 3 t, 2.5 to 4 t and 4 to 7 t, respectively.
While the HRB030 and HRB040 offer a maximum impact rate of 1,200 bpm, the slightly larger HRB050 achieves up to 900 bpm, and a fourth model in the range - the HRB060 - delivers up to 800 bpm.
The largest models in the range are the HRB140 and HRB250 hammers, which are designed for excavators in the 10 to 15 t and the 18 to 26 t classes respectively.
Although both come with auto greasing and are available with the manufacturer’s anti-blank firing technology, the HRB250 is also available with a nitrogen gas accumulator in the back head section, for increased impact energy.
All six breakers come with a choice of two chisels and a two-year warranty as standard, however HD Hyundai added that others are also available, including a conical moil point for demolition, concrete and hard ground.
The company said: “A pyramidal moil point can be used for trenching, general excavation, asphalt, quarrying and reinforced concrete.
“The flat wedge chisel is also ideal for trenching and general excavation work, along with mass excavation in quarries and for reinforced concrete demolition.
“Lastly, a blunt flat end is designed for block splitting, compacting abrasive materials and concrete slab demolition work.
