Kennards Hire expands in New South Wales
16 December 2024
Kennards Hire has announced the acquisition of Betta Hire. No financial details of the deal have been disclosed.
The deal for Ballina-based Betta Hire represents Kennards Hire’s 64th branch in New South Wales and finalises the company’s ’Northern Rivers Triangle’, joining existing locations in Byron Bay and Lismore.
Kennards described the company as a “trusted local business” that solidifies its “commitment to delivering exceptional service and building strong community partnerships in the Northern Rivers region.”
Batta’s branch, now known as Kennards Hire Ballina, will offer an expanded range of hire equipment, including traffic management solutions, large generators, access equipment, and other specialist tools. The branch will also feature additional “core products.”
It will be led by Shane Watson, previously of Betta Hire, which Kennards said will ensure familiarity and excellent service for customers.
Shane Watson, branch manager, Kennards Hire Ballina, said, “It’s an exciting time for Ballina as we join the Kennards Hire family. This transition brings the best of both worlds—Betta Hire’s trusted local expertise and Kennards Hire’s expansive resources.
“We’re proud to continue serving our community with the same friendly, reliable team, now offering an even wider range of tools and solutions to make every job easier. It’s a new name on the sign, but the same crew in Kennards Hire colours.”
James Green, NSW Area Manager, added, “This acquisition is a win for Ballina and the surrounding areas. By completing the Northern Rivers Triangle, we’re better equipped to provide comprehensive support local trades, construction companies, larger projects and DIY’ers.
“We’re committed to bringing local expertise, industry-leading equipment, and the kind of customer service people can count on to make their jobs easy.”
The deal for Betta Hire comes just weeks after it expanded its businesses in Moss Vale in the South Highlands of New South Wales by acquiring MV Hire.
