Italian access equipment manufacturer Comet Officine has expanded its distribution agreement with Hydraulic Platform Services (HPS), to include platform assembly.

Appointed as Comet’s dealer for the UK at the end of last year, the new deal will soon see Devon-based HPS begin assembling the manufacturer’s new van mounted X SPEAR platform range.

Comet’s 10, 12 and 14m X SPEAR models will be assembled at HPS’ new assembly facility in Stockport, Greater Manchester, which is currently being completed.

News of the expanded partnership was announced at this year’s Vertikal Days exhibition in the UK, and comes just weeks after Comet - which is known for its Eurosky and Leopard platforms, publicised its plans to expand its presence in the U.S. and Canada, following its recent launch of a new tracked access product line.

Speaking of the updated deal, Comet said, “We are very honoured and happy to present this collaboration”.
