Puerto Rico-based rental and sales company González Trading has rebranded as Teselta and is expanding internationally following its recent acquisitions of rental companies PowerGen in Panama and Renta Unida in Costa Rica.
PowerGen is a leader in the rental and sales of equipment in Panama, with six locations in the country. Renta Unida is a general rental company involved in the rental and sales of a wide range of construction equipment.
Founded in 1963, Teselta rents, sells and services gensets, industrial forklifts, construction and agricultural equipment and aerial platforms.
It employs 300 people in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Panama.
José Manuel Baeza, Teselta’s President and CEO, said; “Over the past 60 years, our family business has successfully equipped the industries that drive Puerto Rico’s economy, including construction, manufacturing, food distribution and agriculture.
“Now, as Teselta, we are expanding our presence in the region to position ourselves as a multi-Latin business which, from its headquarters in Puerto Rico, aspires to become a leader in the sector.”
In addition to its rental activities, it distributes brands including John Deere, Toyota, Raymond and Clark, as well as JLG and Genie aerial work platforms and Generac and Hipower gensets. It also sells Wacker Neuson, Chicago Pneumatic, Magnum and Multiquip equipment.
The company has a rental fleet valued at more than US$140 million and Baeza said it invests more than $20 million annually to update its fleet.
“We are excited to start this exciting stage in the history of a company that has distinguished itself for excellence in its service during these 60 years”, said Baeza.
