Sinoboom acquires Holland Lift

Sinoboom has acquired scissor lift specialist Holland Lift as part of its Made in Europe for Europe strategy, it was announced today at Bauma.

Holland Lift went into liquidation in August 2023, citing numerous industry challenges, including the substantial increase of steel prices, higher running costs and severe supply chain issues following the Covid pandemic, along with the war in Ukraine. In addition, Holland Lift noted fierce competition from “low price newcomers”.

Now Sinoboom has taken ownership of the Holland Lift brand and all the business’s intellectual property, through its Netherlands subsidiary Sinoboom BV.

The Holland Lift portfolio includes over 30 models with working heights from 16m to 34m, with an emphasis on high capacities exceeding 1,000kg. Known for their heavy-duty features, the lifts are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, with electric, diesel, and hybrid power systems.

Susan Xu, CEO of Sinoboom Group, said, “This milestone supports our long-term objectives of product diversification and deepening our European presence. The Holland Lift Brand is recognized globally and has been a leader in the large scissor lift sector both in construction and industrial sectors, and its integration will enhance our global offerings.”

Technical updates

The existing Holland Lift designs will go through technical adaptations, before being integration into Sinoboom’s operating systems, with initial prototypes then being produced ahead of certification. The plan is for the first models, manufactured in Sinoboom’s Poznan, Poland plant, to appear during the first quarter of 2026. These models will be followed by the rest of the range on a phased introduction.

“The product will eventually be manufactured across all the Sinoboom global manufacturing locations, but the initial focus will be in Poznan, Poland, further strengthening our commitment to Europe and our strategy of Made in Europe for Europe, said Xu.

Branding retained

Under the new arrangement, the Holland Lift brand name will be retained and be known as Holland Lift by Sinoboom. Xu added, “The Holland Lift range is a natural extension to our existing product portfolio and will allow us to offer our global customer base a wider range, whilst also allowing Sinoboom to develop new customers whose business is often focused in this sector of high-capacity scissors.”

Richard Butler, Sinoboom European CEO, commented, “Sinoboom BV provides sales and support throughout Europe, either directly or through its network of independent distribution partners. The company is committed to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer support.

“Sinoboom’s strategic purchase of the Holland Lift Brand reaffirms Sinoboom Group’s commitment to Europe and will strengthen our strategy of ‘Made in Europe for Europe’.”
