Pacific Shoring acquired by private equity

California-based shoring manufacturer Pacific Shoring Products has been acquired by Palm Peak Capital, a private equity business created last year by three former Sun Capital Partners executives. The price was not disclosed.

Pacific Shoring was founded in 2005 and produces aluminium and steel shoring at plants in Santa Rosa, California and Pearland, Texas. It supplies major rental companies and dealers in the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.

Pacific Shoring’s CEO Bruce Russell, said he was enthusiastic about the “next chapter of growth...to accelerate our growth plan and increase our industry leadership.

“With Palm Peak’s support, Pacific Shoring is well-positioned to capitalise on an attractive market opportunity and bring new solutions to the end users of our products that will seek to ensure worker safety as the volume of construction projects continues to grow.”

Palm Peak said the North American trench shoring market has seen robust growth in recent years and was expected to continue; “driven by consistent demand from new projects, infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, and... OSHA safety compliance and other favourable regulatory trends.”

Dante Pavone, vice president at Palm Peak, added; “Over the past 20 years, Pacific Shoring has proven itself as an industry leader and is poised for even greater success in the years ahead.

“We are excited to apply our resources and expertise to partner with Pacific Shoring’s CEO Bruce Russell and management team who have built a strong culture and a proven ability to meet ambitious goals.”

It is the first investment by Palm Peak since it was created in April 2024.

Lynn Skillen, head of operations at Palm Peak, said the private equity business would help Pacific Shoring in areas including procurement, product range expansion, technology investment, and expansion of its sales force.

Palm Peak Capital was co-founded in 2024 by Steven Liff, Daniel Florian and Jeremy Stone, who are the managing partners. Formerly with major private equity firm Sun Capital Partners, they have more than 16 years experience acquiring companies in the industrial and services sectors.
