Herc acquires in Alabama
09 July 2024
Herc Rentals has acquired US-based general rental company Industrial Rental & Sales. No financial details of the transaction have been disclosed.
Founded in 2016 by J.D Miles, the independent rental company serves the resedential building, industrial construction and heavy civil construction sectors in Alabama and the surrounding states from its headquarters in Guntersville.
Its fleet is made up of heavy construction and industrial equipment and includes mini excavators, skid steer loaders, scissor lifts, man lifts as well as a range of general construction tools and hydraulic hammers.
J.D. Miles, co-owner and manager of Industrial Rental, said becoming part of Herc will enable the company to expand equipment availability and services; “Since we started Industrial Rentals, our focus has been on serving our customers. The Huntsville area has experienced tremendous growth over the last decade, and we have grown with that.
“Over the years, we have struggled with keeping the inventory levels necessary to keep up with that demand. To fulfill customer needs, we often re-rented equipment, bought equipment just in time for a project or fast-tracked a turnaround of equipment going from one rental to the next.
“Partnering with Herc will significantly expand our equipment availability and services offered to our customers. We are very excited for what the next chapter holds for our customers and employees after partnering with Herc.”
The deal is the latest acquisition that Herc Rentals has completed since the start of the year. In February the company acquired Wisconsin-based Aerial Work Platforms, while just weeks later it completed the purchase of New York-based MAC Equipment.
More recently the company expanded on the East Coast with the purchase of Rental Works of Maryland.
US-based mergers and acquisitions specialists The Stansberry Firm represented Industrial Rentals in the transaction.
