Falcon spider launch for ultimate indoor use
17 April 2024
Falcon Lifts has unveiled the latest addition to its lineup, an electric-powered spider lift on wheels.
The new Falcon 330Wheel builds on the manufacturer’s Falcon 290 Wheel (FS290), with a working height of 33m and enhanced outreach of 14m.
Designed with indoor use in mind, the electric unit is powered by a 180 Ah AGM battery pack, charged using DC 220V/110V mains supply, offering enough power for one day’s work. Optionally, it can also be equipped with a 2.2kW AC motor or lithium battery pack for a faster charging time.
As well as minimising noise and carbon emissions, the new model has wheels which provide smooth indoor manoeuvrability on sensitive floorings, while, says the manufacturer, maintaining robust outdoor performance.
The company pointed out that beyond environmental friendliness, electric power offers lower operating costs compared to combustion engine versions, thanks to reduced maintenance requirements and no need for fuel.
“In many regions, there are government incentives and subsidies available for the adoption of electric vehicles, including industrial equipment like the Falcon 330 Wheel,” said Falcon Lifts.
“These incentives can further reduce the upfront cost and overall operating expenses, making the transition to electric models even more attractive.”
Equipped with a double jib design, the Falcon 330 Wheel offers increased stability and manoeuvrability, making it suitable for tasks such as indoor maintenance at residential buildings, businesses, shopping malls and airports.
“The unique versatile double jib provides improved accessibility to complicated areas like skylights and special ceilings,” said the company, to get up, over, and behind escalators, walkways and other challenging worksites.
The model can also work at a negative angle, below ground level, making it ideal for bridge inspections and walkways.
