Renta Group is connecting its construction sites’ electrical networks to cloud services as part of a strategic partnership with power, lighting and heating equipment manufacturer TSR-Elsite.

The partnership will see Renta integrate TSR’s Spine system, allowing it to connect temporary construction site power boards to cloud services and gain real-time remote management of the electrical network.

At the same time, Renta said it will provide proactive alerts, device location information, CO2 calculations, energy consumption tracking and future expansion possibilities.

Renta said the partnership also strengthens its focus on ecological, social, and economic sustainable development and allows it to calculate project carbon footprints while guiding environmentally conscious choices on construction sites.

The system will be integrated into Renta’s Easy service through API connectivity, with the company aiming to have a “significant portion” of its electric fleet connected to the cloud service and remote management by the end of 2025.

Joel Särkkä, CIO, Renta Group, said, “Increasing transparency for our customers has been key to us from the start. Spine’s capabilities to enhance transparency for Renta and its customers align perfectly with our service offering, where we bring intelligence to the services we deliver.

“We see comprehensive monitoring of construction site energy consumption becoming an industry standard in the coming years.”

Toni Raivo, CEO, TSR, said, “Issues such as freezing of concrete casting due to power outages can be forgotten with Spine,” while Aki Lukkarinen, project manager, TSR, noted that it can collect be used to collect data on sites and aid planning of new sites and calculation of offers.

The announcement comes just weeks after Renta announced a partnership with Hilti to fit bluetooth asset tags to powered equipment at 170 of its depots.
