MEC re-launches into Europe
30 April 2024
US-based MEWP manufacturer MEC was exhibiting at the Intermat show for the first time last week, with the plan of relaunching into the international market.
As the company explained to Access International, it had been present in Europe pre-Covid with a range of niche products. Now that the company has expanded into a more mainstream product line and the challenges of Covid are over, there is a new emphasis on the global market for which Europe will be the launchpad.
The company, which has now been fully acquired by Dingli, is in the midst of bringing together a team to lead the expansion outside of North America, while the company also seeks to establish a comprehensive parts and service provision.
The company went on to say that it would be reviewing its pre-existing distributorship network across Europe in a bid to strengthen it and potentially bring in new dealers.
The emphasis going forward in Europe will be on electric products, which MEC has been expanding in its domestic product line which offers full electric operation, and zero hydraulics.
According to MEC, large new industrial centres will be a focus for its products in Europe, including data centres, food processing plants, battery plants and distribution sites, for which it is already a major player in the US market.
MEC said more information about the new team and services in Europe and its full plans for the international market would be shared soon.
