Cross Rental grows temperature control business
31 October 2023
UK-based company Cross Rental Services has invested more than £3 million in its temperature control business.
The company, which launched in the UK in 2018 and has a HVAC hire business in Ireland, said the investment is part of a strategy for growth and covers both hire fleet expansion and improvements to its business operations.
The addition of 75 New packaged plant rooms, which are currently being built at its Andover facility, takes up most of the £3 million investment, the company said.
Cross Rental Services said, “The available rental fleet has been grown significantly in line with demand and this continues with further investment as the business moves into the 2023/2024 winter season.
“The boiler fleet now comprises over 700 temporary boilers and represents the largest UK boiler hire fleet.
“Continued investment has created a diverse fleet, ranging from 22kW to 3MW and available in various formats including; containerised, mobile trailers, and small footprint packaged boilers.”
Meanwhile, it has added 30 boiler units to its fleet with the acquisition of UK-based Hire Heat, adding to the previous acquisitions of Swegon Hire, Acclimatise and All Seasons Hire.
Elsewhere, the company said it is placing “significant focus” on emerging technologies that support customer sustainability goals such as its new range of condensing boilers that offer “lower emissions, including NOx emissions, as well as cost saving efficiency gains.”
A £500,000 investment in retrofitted remote telemtry systems for its full hire fleet of boilers and chillers has also been made, enabling remote monitoring and management of its fleet in real-time.
Geographically, the company has expanded its presence with a new location in Kent and expanded facilities in both Glasgow and Haydock, adding to depots that are operational in Andover, Birmingham, and Stoke-on-Trent.
The company added, “Investment in all aspects of the business is planned for 2024 and beyond to support continued growth, in both the current team of 150+colleagues, to the HVAC rental fleet – now the UK’s biggest.
“Alongside people, process and rental equipment; Cross Rental Services will continue to develop technology capable of delivering consistent improvement in the customer experience, to put the customer firmly at the heart of everything it does.”
