US manufacturer NLB Corp has launched a new attachment – the Automated Remote Manipulator (ARM).

This is a semi-automated water jet system that is said to let an operator manipulate a variety of accessories from the cab, using joystick controls to start, stop and position the flow of high-pressure water.

Suited for mounting on mini excavators, the ARM is designed to handle water pressure of up to 40,000psi, or 2,760 bar, at 600hp. ARM comes with a quick-connect system, to enable operators to change accessories, such as a spin jet or spin nozzle head, depending on the job.

The ARM has a vertical reach of about 12ft (3.6m) and a horizontal reach of about 17ft (5. m), with a wide water jet pattern to maximize coverage.
