United Rentals consolidates branch in Europe

United Rentals Power & Tool Solutions, formerly known as EQIN and Indu-Tools, has opened a new consolidated branch in the Botlek area of Rotterdam, the company has announced.

The location, situated on Shannonweg, will serve as the main Dutch hub for its power & tool specialism.

The company said it will offer centralised expertise, equipment, and solutions to better serve customers.

The company said the former Indu-Tools branch on the Driemanssteeweg will remain operational as a depot for the issue and collection of equipment in the Waalhaven area.

The move follows its acquisitions of EQIN and Indu-Tools earlier this year, which provide a range of equipment, such as generators, compressors, welding equipment and lighting towers.

The companies have a number of depots throughout the Benelux region, including seven in the Netherlands and one in Belgium.

It also forms part of its ongoing expansion plans for Europe having first entered it six years ago with its with the purchase of BakerCorp International Holdings.

In Europe the company is mainly focusing its attentions on the industrial markets. Speaking with IRN earlier this year, David C. Scott, senior VP– specialty division, said, “Generally, our organic growth plans (for Europe) do include expansion by geography, product/service, and or vertical and you can anticipate new locations moving forward.”
