New president for Aggreko Japan

Power specialist Aggreko has appointed Shinaki Kato as president of its Aggreko Japan business and managing director of North Asia.

In addition to his responsibilities in Japan he will oversee Aggreko’s operations in South Korea and Taiwan, “driving further growth across the entire North Asia region”, said the company.

Kato, who has experience in energy companies in Japan and overseas, joins the company from utilities contractor ETS Holdings, where he spent the last four years as president and CEO. 

Prior to that, he was the president and CEO of GCL New Energy Japan. He is also active as a secretary of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives.

Kato said he was “deeply honored” to take on his new roles; “I am confident that we will further expands Aggreko’s footprint in North Asia while continuing to enhance our solutions for our customers.”

Johan de Villiers, Aggreko’s president of Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific, added, “Kato-san has demonstrated outstanding leadership and a proven track record in the energy industry throughout his career.

“With Kato-sanʼs appointment, I am confident that we will further grow and develop our team in North Asia, serve our customers with passion and excellence, and deliver strong business results for all stakeholders.”
