JLG gives market outlook at Mexico anniversary

JLG Industries is marking the first anniversary of its Mexico warehouse, aimed at the growing Mexico and Latin America construction market.

Since its inception in February last year, the warehouse has become an indispensable part of the company’s operations, acting as a central hub for logistics and training activity in Latin America. Its presence, said JLG, has bolstered its ability to serve its customers in the highly competitive landscapes of Mexico’s access business and rental sectors and throughout the entire region.

Juan Pablo Saucedo, JLG’s senior sales manager for Mexico and Central America, hailed the establishment of the warehouse as a significant leap forward for the company. Speaking about the team’s adaptability and customer-centric approach, Saucedo said, “Our team is always ready to walk or run with our customers. They set the pace of what is needed; we simply follow the sales and rental leaders in our markets.”

Growth market

Mexico’s construction market is witnessing a significant surge, establishing itself as a major hotspot for global manufacturers. According to Mike Brown, vice president of sales and market development in Latin America for JLG, “As a strategically located manufacturing powerhouse, Mexico is living a unique moment, bolstered by global ‘nearshoring’ towards the world’s largest marketplace, the U.S.”

Interestingly, added the company, the market in Mexico has grown to a size that rivals Brazil’s, sparking optimism within JLG about the future of their business there. Brown said that JLG will continue investing to expand its presence in Mexico, underlining its unwavering commitment to this rapidly developing market.

The PAM Event

To celebrate the warehouse’s first anniversary, JLG hosted its PAM (pietra abiertas Mexico) event, showcasing JLG machines to customers in Mexico. The event was also a learning opportunity.  Teams from local rental companies received more than 15 hours of comprehensive training at the warehouse in February. The training provided was extensive, covering a wide array of topics relevant to the access industry. It included an overview of new industry trends and a detailed look at the JLG scissor lift product family and their use.

Attendees were also introduced to JLG’s low level access equipment, with a focus on the complete product range available for Latin America. A tour of the JLG Oshkosh plant in Leon was included, offering an in-depth look at the manufacturing process. Additionally, the training covered the ClearSky Smart Fleet fleet management tool. There were also introductions to the boom lift and telehandler product families, as well as the Hinowa equipment lineup.

Speaking at the event, Luca Riga, JLG’s senior manager of marketing and business development for Latin America, said these training initiatives would continue on a quarterly basis throughout Latin America, “This is a prime example of our dedication to staying close to our customers and aligning with market needs.”

As it looks to the future, the company added, it continues to anticipate and meet the changing needs of its customers while contributing to the ever-evolving landscape of the construction market in Latin America.
