HD Hyundai XiteSolution unveils virtual training centre
19 February 2024
HD Hyundai XiteSolution Co., a global manufacturer of machine parts and a sub-holding company of South Korea’s HD Hyundai Group, has launched a virtual training centre that uses digital technology to mimic real construction equipment.
The virtual training centre is located at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Centre in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province in South Korea.
The centre offers employees the opportunity to experience different construction environments in virtual reality, including mines, mountains, caves, and urban settings, in 3D.
The virtual training centre features a total of 16 medium and heavy equipment models, including five medium-sized excavators, four wheel loaders, and four forklifts, which are made into RC models to provide a wide range of experiences.
HD Hyundai XiteSolution said that the goal is to improve the understanding of construction equipment among its employees by using virtual reality and digital twin technology to enhance its research and development capabilities.
“By implementing terrain information, we can guide operators with information that can be used as a reference for their work,” said Oh Dae-jin, a senior researcher at HD Hyundai XiteSolution’s structural research team.
Oh added, “We plan to proceed with formal training courses moving forward.”
HD Hyundai XiteSolution was formed in 2021 to create synergies between HD Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE), which sells Hyundai branded machines, and HD Hyundai Infracore (HDI), which makes the Develon line of construction equipment.
