Rouse makes progress on European rental market data
17 March 2025
Rouse Services, the Ritche Bros business that provides rental market benchmarking data, is making rapid progress in developing its offer in Europe and other markets outside North America.
The company now has 130 rental companies outside North America signed up to contribute data, including around 80 in the UK and 35 in Australia, a Rouse representative told IRN at the IPAF Summit in Dublin. The number has grown dramatically since mid-2023.

Rouse is already well established in North America, with as many as 400 rental companies contributing data on pricing and equipment utilization, allowing Rouse to present aggregated, anonymised information on a wide number of product categories and geographies.
The company, which was acquired by Ritchie Bros in late 2020, is using its strong UK network of subscribers to provide data on aerial work platforms, earthmoving equipment and tools.
It has 10 to 15 companies signed up in continental Europe, and is focusing on Germany, France, the Netherlands and the Nordics. It is also working in Japan and Brazil.
The Rouse representative said it was able to offer a national service for aerial platform rental data in France and Germany, and was hoping to be able a regional service soon.
In order to meet with competition regulations, Rouse must have a certain number of data sources – typically five - covering each geographic or product group. Data is then presented in aggregate and anonymised format to allow rental companies to benchmark their own rental metrics.
Rouse Services is a sister business to SmartEquip within Ritche Bros. Rouse and SmartEquip were supporting sponsors of the IPAF Summit and IAPA awards, held in Dublin on 13 March, 2025.
