Wirtgen’s W210

15 May 2010

Wirtgen’s new W210 milling machine feature a standard milling width of 2 m with optional drum sizes of 1,5 or 2,2 m and a maximum milling depth of 330 mm. The 28,1 tonne W210 features a unique dual-engine system with a maximum output of 500 kW. It can be driven and carry out small milling jobs up to 40 mm in depth using just one engine, but when carrying out heavy duty milling both engines come into play. The system offers fuel consumption savings of up to +25%. The W210 can be operated at three engine speeds to optimise fuel consumption, milling performance and overall efficiency. The operating stand is isolated from the engine and drum to minimise vibrations while the twin control panels feature colour multi-function screens showing diagnostics, operation information and camera views from up to six optional cameras. It also features a ‘wasp’ style waist so the operator can see the milling edge and crawler tracks and the entire cabin can be moved left and right to avoid objects. Both machines are equipped with parallel to surface (PTS) automatic machine alignment and intelligent speed control (ISC), which optimises traction even in tight turns.
