New CEO for Loxam subsidiary
18 March 2024
Brazil-based temporary power generation specialist A Geradora, which is part of Loxam, has appointed Marcelo Teixeira as its new chief executive officer (CEO).
He replaces outgoing CEO Enilson Moreira de Lima.
Teixeira has been with the company for 18 years, during which time he has served as technical manager, regional manager, events director and most recently director of operations where he was responsible for the operational area and the company’s 14 branches in Brazil.
He will combine the role of director of operations with the CEO position.
A Geradora was founded in 1989 and has 14 branches in Brazil. It was acquired by Loxam in July last year, adding to the existing Loxam Degraus business in Brazil.
According to Teixeira, leading the company represents “several challenges”, including managing a highly competitive environment, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards and dealing with issues related to talent management and fleet maintenance.
For the short-term, he said the company would focus on expanding its fleet, implementing remote monitoring technologies and optimising processes to ensure “continuous equipment availability” in 2024.
He also highlighted adding renewable energy sources into its fleet and expanding into new markets as two key areas of focus for the medium-term.
Guilherme Boog, chairman of the Board of Directors, A Geradora, said, “We trust that A Geradora will maintain the track of successes achieved in recent years under the management of Marcelo Teixeira. We want the company to grow and advance in the temporary energy market, as we have increasingly critical demands as Brazil resumes its development path.”
José Manuel Rubias, international operations director of the Loxam Group, added, “The appointment of Marcelo Teixeira is an important milestone for the establishment of a true national player, together with the other companies that the Loxam Group already has in Brazil.
“A Geradora’s experience and strong reputation will allow us to establish new goals and new ambitions to be achieved together.”
