Hewden’s €44 million Cat deals in 12 months
21 July 2014
UK-based rental company Hewden has further expanded its fleet with a £3 million (€3.8 million) deal for 26 Caterpillar excavators from the manufacturer’s UK dealer Finning.
This investment took the total value of equipment that Hewden has bought from Caterpillar/Finning in the last 12 months to £35 million (€44 million).
Finning said the order consisted of 21 320EL excavators, which are 25 tonne class operating weight machines, and five 312E’s, which have operating weights of 15 tonnes.
This added to the fleet of 109 excavators purchased by Hewden earlier in the year, and 463 C series telescopic handlers purchased in late 2013.
And the deal took the total number of new Caterpillar core fleet products purchased in the last 12 months to 598 units.
Hewden director Mark Hogg said, “Our core fleet next day delivery guarantee has been a real success, with the 109 excavators previously purchased from Finning proving to be very popular.
“This latest purchase is testament to the success of our ongoing relationship with Finning and shows just how important the combination of state-of-the-art Cat equipment and service support is in the competitive market of plant hire.”
With equipment already being delivered to Hewden sites across the country, Finning said each of the new machines would be supported by a five-year preventative maintenance service contract, alongside a five-year warranty.
