SIF launches industrial welding package

UK-based Weldability-Sifhas launched the SifWeld MTS 250, an electronically controlled MIG/MAG/MMA industrial welding package featuring IGBT inverter technology.

The unit is designed for use in heavy-duty fabrication applications such as structural steel and marine/shipyard tasks.

It can be used to weld mild steep, low-alloy, stainless and aluminium in solid and flux-cored MIG applications. It can also be used for DC MMA welding (DC+/DC-) and scratch-start TIG welding.

Its control system allows infinitely variable control of welding voltage, wire feed speed and burnback, as well as wire inching in MIG mode. The power source also benefits from 4T/2T torch-latching and spool gun selection.

Clear volt and amp meters allow welding parameters to be easily monitored during the welding process and the main casing houses a fully enclosed wire feed compartment with a precision four roll wire feed block with all four rollers being gear driven and a counter-balanced wire tension system for precision wire feeding.

A full-length carry handle makes the machine easy to move between working locations and a robust trolley is available which can also accommodate a full size gas cylinder and incorporates a storage compartment for common spare parts to be stored.

The SifWeld MTS 250 comes with a 230v 1ph 32a input supply and supplies 250A DC output at 35% duty cycle and 195A at 60%. It features MIG, MMA and Smart-TIG functionality, cantilever balanced swing arm and comes with the option of a spool-on gun.
