Acces Industrie offers BIM capability to customers
19 November 2024
French access rental company Acces Industrie has partnered with Bimono, a digital platform for managing construction sites, to offer building information modelling (BIM) of its aerial platforms and material handling equipment.
BIM is a modelling method based on a 3D digital model, which contains all the technical information in a database relating to the construction site or its maintenance throughout its life cycle.
It allows construction companies to visualize the final building in advance with a so-called ‘3D digital twin’ to detect possible technical problems, improve security, plan interventions and calculate carbon emissions.
Acces Industrie said BIM can reduce overall construction costs by up to 20%.
It said the Bimono platform could provide its customers with 3D digital models of its machines and offer an ideal solution for sharing information between the construction sites and offices.
The platform will also make project information accessible to all users without the installation of complex and expensive business software. It offers the following possibilities:
- Viewing .ifc files from a web browser,
- Downloading .ifc and .rfa files (source files) from a web browser,
- Sharing .ifc and .rfa files from the platform.
Users can access the platform on smartphones, tablets, or computers.
Established in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2022, Bimono aims to offer solutions to simplify workflows for professionals in construction sites and the office.
“Working with the teams at Acces Industrie was a fantastic experience,” said Simon Molinas, co-founder and chief executive of Bimono. “It allowed us to build a fully customized solution from A to Z in close collaboration with them.”
As a former site manager, Molinas said this project pushed Bimono to make its platform as intuitive as possible and make BIM accessible and easy to use.
