Atlas to debut its most compact wheeled excavator
02 April 2025
German excavator and loader crane manufacturer Atlas Gmbh will launch at Bauma its smallest short tailswing wheeled excavator, the Atlas 135Wsr.
The most compact wheeled model produced by the OEM, the 135Wsr is in the 13.9t to 15.2t weight class and has a tail swing radius of 1.62m. Its Deutz TCD 3.6 diesel engine has an output of 95 kW at 2000 rpm, providing 82 kN of traction force and a top speed of 35 km/h.
The machine can be supplied with a split dozer blade, the first made by Atlas. The two halves of the blade can be moved independently to adapt to uneven surfaces.
It is also the first Atlas excavator to have all-wheel steering (4-wheel steering with serial shifting of the steering cylinders) and crab steering.

The 135Wsr will be shown alongside a number of “completely redesigned” excavators, including the 185Wand the 155W Bigfoot, which is designed for difficult terrain.
The company will also show its new “feel good” cab, with air conditioning, 360 degree panoramic views, and lower noise levels.
Brahim Stitou, CEO of Atlas, said; “We want to show that, even after more than a century, Atlas still is an innovative company that is characterised by economic efficiency and technological supremacy and that offers the best solution to any challenge.”
