Auction success for Hewden

Crane and construction equipment rental company Hewden in the UK said that more than 850 lots were sold during its auction held in October 2014.

The auction is in its 15^th year. All items sold are genuine equipment all direct from The Hewden Rental Fleet, a spokesperson said. A number of the machines sold were auctioned for charity. Proceeds were donated to The Lighthouse Club Construction Industry Charity.

The auction included a number of cranes, including a 2000 Kato CR100 city crane, a 1999 Demag AC 40/1 City, a 2003 Terex AC 35 a 2003 Terex AC 80/2 and a 1999 Demag AC 80/1.

Jeff Schofield, Hewden marketing director, said, “Disposal of our assets is a critical part of the machine ownership cycle; the lots sold recently have served Hewden customers well, but have reached the point where disposal is the correct option. The 850 machines sold represents less than 3 % of our fleet holding. This year we have invested over £60 million in over 1,500 new assets. Our investment plans for 2015 to further grow our business will be announced in due course.

Everything else sold very well, to a large on site crowd, and record attendance on the internet.
