Australian rental firm boosts workflows with Inauro

Australian rental company Hire Express has deployed the Perspio platform from Inauro to streamline its fleet management and operations.

Hire Express is a general equipment hire company operating through a centralised distribution warehouse in Blacktown - Sydney. It supplies a comprehensive range of products, from small building tools to large construction equipment.

Sydney-headquartered Inauro is a data fusion company that harnesses information from IoT devices, digital forms, ERP, CRM and other enterprise systems “to create value in operational workflows.”

It provides “real-time awareness and recommendations for operational teams to make better decisions.”

It does this through the modular Perspio data fusion platform, which connect assets, devices and operational systems to improve safety, efficiency and environmental performance for businesses including equipment rental companies.

Perspio’s aim is to maximise the efficiency of processes including preventative maintenance, fleet management or refuelling for businesses. It captures data across a range of devices, connectivity and third-party cloud repository options, which it uses to accelerate workflows, and provide relevant recommendation for improvements.

It can connect to any field data source, including any third-party data source or in-house system and supports telemetry and non-telemetry data sources,

Perspio is now providing Hire Express with a single pane view of its fleet, encompassing the fleet’s telematics solutions, both those from OEMs and stand-alone add-ons.

Rental and servicing information from the Hire Express enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution Baseplan is also mined, to simplify fleet management for Hire Express.

Hire Express Managing Director Allen Besseling said being able to access the relevant data of each of the company’s assets in one system “is really making a difference for us.”

“For a relatively agile operation, we can’t afford to waste time reconciling data between systems, or in administrative overheads. Our roll-out of Perspio is really making this pain go away.”

Perspio is also writing data to enhance Baseplan’s real-time capability, with examples of the functions updated including plant engine hours and odometer readings. These updates are intended to enable field servicing for Hire Express’ rental operation.

Tolls are also being integrated, with charges directly written into Baseplan contracts, “avoiding administrative headaches at the end of the month.”
