Avesco Rent has announced it is to use a zero-emissions electric transportation truck to provide logistics solutions to its customers via a new partnership with Swiss transportation company Henry Logistics.

The 3-axle machine carrier with hydraulic ramps is said to produce zero-emissions and offers a payload of more than 13 tonnes and a “clean and efficient performance.” The batteries of the truck are charged via photovoltaic panels that are installed on a Henry Transport facility in Switzerland and will enable Avesco to support its customers in the Vaud Canton region.

According to Avesco, it is capable of delivering to construction sites, towns and countryside locations and works in “absolute silence.”

Avesco says the partnership with Henery Transport is a “new step” in its goal to reduce its carbon footprint. In 2021, the company utilised a fully electric 40 tonne truck to transport equipment bertween its depots in a partnership with transport company Friderici Spécial and truck producer Designwerk Group.

In an interview with IRN last year, Vincent Albasini, CEO of Avesco Rent, said the decision to reduce its emissions was made following analysis of its footprint which found that that 45 to 50% of its emissions came from transport.
