Boels appoints Supervisory Board

Boels has appointed a new Supervisory Board, effective September 5.

Former CFO of Boels Rental, Jan Piet Valk is joining the three-person Supervisory Board having resigned as CFO and statutory director of Boels Rental earlier this year to take on the new position.

Boels said Jan Piet has played an important role in the development and growth of Boels and has previously held the role of director and led numerous financing, acquisition, integration and automation projects.

His successor as CFO is René Olsthoorn. 

Joining Piet Valk is Dirk-Jan Stoppelenburg. Boels said Dirk-Jan brings extensive experience as director, CEO and supervisor at various Dutch and Swedish companies.

The final member is Maurits Duynstee. Maurits has a long track record in the financial sector where he has held and still holds various senior management roles.

Boels said Maurits has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and complex financings and was already a member of the Advisory Board at Boels Group since 2019.

The company said that with the establishment of the Board, it has “formalised the advisory and supervisory body appropriate to the current size of the company,” adding that the Board will “advise the board and contribute to Boels’ long-term strategic vision.”

It said it will enable the company to better respond to developments and continue to consider the interests of all stakeholders such as investors, customers, suppliers and all employees.

Chairman Jan Piet Valk said, “I am very excited about the establishment of a Supervisory Board, because we know, from our collective experience, how much added value this can bring to the management of the Boels Group and thus the company as a whole.

“It is an enormous honor for me personally, from my experience as an executive director, to now also be able to continue to contribute to a wonderful company as chairman, together with the Supervisory Board.”
