German OEM adopts joins Battery One platform

German surface preparation and concrete trowel supplier Schwamborn has adopted the Battery One cross-platform battery for its equipment.

The move means the company’s range of concrete and screed trowels as well as its wall and ceiling grinders will be supported by the interchangeable battery system.

Eckart Schwamborn, CEO of Schwamborn Gerätebau GmbH, said, “We are delighted that our equipment is joining the Battery One family.

“We recognise the many benefits this battery standard will offer our customers, and are glad that we can make a positive contribution to the electrification of construction sites.”

The Battery One system is available in three power classes (500Wh, 1000Wh, 1400Wh) and comes with a standard charger, a fast charger and a UN-certified transport box.

Battery One batteries can be used in a number of applications, including internal vibrator systems for concrete compaction, trowels for smoothing concrete and screed, wall and ceiling grinders, single-direction and reversible vibratory plates, plate compactors and battery-powered rammers from different vendors.

The Battery One platform is now available in over 50 machines, with manufacturers such as Wacker Neuson, Mikasa, Swepac, Dynapac, and Enar and adopting it.

Speaking to IRN last year, Stefan Pfetsch, managing director of Wacker Neuson, said it is looking to increase the number of OEMs offering the batteries as well as scaling up the production line.
