Doosan launches wheeled excavator in 10-tonne class
18 January 2022
Doosan has launched the DX100W-7 10.7 tonne wheeled excavator for urban and road maintenance, representing a first move into the 10 tonne weight class for the OEM.
Doosan said the DX100W-7 “offers the best compromise between compactness and agility, complemented by excellent productivity and high-end comfort.”
The machine is designed to operate “in very restricted areas” and can be equipped with optional four wheel steering and a crabbing mode, with two wheel steering as standard. It also meets stringent safety and specifications.
“The integral 1.35 tonne counterweight ensures the highest stability for lifting work in combination with the articulated boom and long arm, which together provide a larger working range than other machines in this class, despite having similar boom and arm lengths.
Meanwhile an articulated boom was designed “to ensure that the operator is able to position the machine as close as possible to trucks during loading.”
The DX100W-7 also offers “maximised lifting capacities and digging forces,” as well as satisfying a requirement in some countries for a wheeled excavator with a travelling height of under 4 m.
The ROPS cab features a “premium seat as standard” and generous touch screen, while an optional 360° all-around view camera and linked ultrasonic detection system are also available.
Additional cab features include DAB audio (Handsfree and Bluetooth); parallel wiper system; LED work lights as standard; thumbwheel joystick, and separate pumps for front equipment and transmission.
“The high flow from the smooth and precise hydraulic system can be used to drive all kinds of attachments. In addition, the DX100W-7 has two different pumps providing independent hydraulic flows for the transmission and to fully power hydraulic tools on the front end.”
The machine is powered by a D34 engine, said to exceed Stage V regulations without exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), improving air quantity during combustion.
DOC/DPF+SCR after-treatment technology is also included to reduce emissions.
Doosan said a new, durable chassis frame features a new pinning system, compatible with both front and rear undercarriage attachments and designed for mounting the optional 4-wheel steering system.
The chassis design also ensures that attachments can be added and exchanged later without modifying the frame.
The DX100W-7 is also fitted with the DoosanCONNECT TMS 3.0 web-based, wireless fleet monitoring system.
