Equipment Depot appoints president
04 September 2023
Equipment Depot has appointed Anthony Garcia as president, replacing the outgoing David O. Turner who is leaving the company after 12 years.
Garcia joined the company last year as regional vice president of the south region following 15 years with heavy lifting and transport company Mammoet.
During his time with the company he held the roles of vice president and regional board member and vice president of operations of Mammoet Americas.
Following his appointment, Garcia says the company will “invest in its people” and “preserve the strong culture at the company” while positioning itself to utilise technology.
Garcia said, “The industry is in a state of unprecedented technological advancement. From how automation, electrification, robotics, and AI are playing a role, the potential to reshape the landscape is at our fingertips — and I envision Equipment Depot being on the forefront.”
Former president Turner said, “Over the past 12 years, I have been privileged to be a part of the transformational journey and to have seen the extraordinary passion, commitment and drive to be the best service organisation from our people.
“As our recent performance shows, it is clear we are delivering, and after significant investments, Equipment Depot is well positioned to generate consistent, strong returns.”
Commenting on Turner’s successor, Ken Barina, president of Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas, Equipment Depot’s U.S. parent company, said Garcia had made a “positive contribution to the south Texas and Louisiana regions with his strong business instincts, leadership skills and work ethic.
“Anthony has also brought a renewed sense of focus and excitement to these critically important growth regions. We look forward to his leadership as Equipment Depot charts its course into the future.”
The appointment, which was confirmed last month, will be effective from 11 September.
