Europower rebrands as e-power
09 July 2021
Belgian genset manufacturer Europower Generators is under new ownership and has rebranded as e-power.
Past owners Yves and Luc Heylands - who created the business in 1990 - have sold the company to Kurt Van Dal, a former executive in the medical and pharmaceuticals industry and founder of Red Apple Investments. IRN understands that the original owners are still involved on a consultancy basis.
In a message to customers, Van Dal said; “With e-power our aim is to build upon the strong foundations laid out by our predecessors. Evolution is the keyword, not revolution.
“That is why we are very grateful that all former Europower employees have agreed to join e-power. Their expertise will prove invaluable to our company’s future, and guarantee a seamless transition for all stakeholders during the coming months.”
As reflected in the name, the company will invest in new power technologies to complement its existing range of gensets. For example, a 45 kVA hydrogen combustion genset – developed with Ziero – is under development
In a letter to customers, Van dal said; “In the following years e-power will focus on organic and external growth, innovation and efficiency.
“We will enter new geographic regions and market segments across the globe, increase our efforts in developing green technologies (such as hydrogen and gas-powered generator sets), and automate our production and manufacturing processes.”
Van Dal’s experience includes 15 years as President and CEO of Nipro Medical Europe and three years as Group President of Nipro Europe.
He founded Red Apple investments in 2018 to invest in small and midium sized companies.
