Friday Roundup: ARA updates forecast | United Rentals acquires in Europe | Dieci launches telehandler upgrades

Welcome back to our Friday Roundup of news. The past week in equipment rental was characterized by headlines announcing continued growth in several areas, not the least of which was an updated forecast from the American Rental Association which predicts rental revenues almost 3% higher than what the organization expected in February at The ARA Show.

In the headlines once again this week was United Rentals, this time announcing its acquisition of European equipment rental business EQIN

Headquartered in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, EQIN provides a range of equipment, such as generators, compressors, welding equipment and lighting towers through a number of depots throughout the Benelux region, including seven in the Netherlands and one in Belgium.

Last week, we announced the opening of the European Rental Association (ERA) convention in Lisbon, Portugal. Here we let you in on the winners of the 2024 European Rental Awards, which included GAM Alquiler, Blackwood Plant Hire and Ecosun Innovations, among others. Also bestowed on the last night of the convention were the Lifetime Achievement Award and Person of the Year Award.

In other news, UK-based rental company Speedy Hire was named one of the Financial Times Europe Climate Leader. Given to companies most successful in reducing their core greenhouse gas emissions, Speedy received the honor for the second consecutive year. 

In the area of product innovations, Dieci announced the launch of top end telehandler upgrades. The new Elite series builds on the manufacturer’s existing Pegasus Essential and Pegasus Classic series.
