Friday Roundup: Colorado, US acquisitions | European rental forecast | equipment demos

This week’s Friday Roundup includes a couple of themes - rental acquisitions in Colorado, US, and new earthmoving equipment being demo’d on site.

Regarding the acquisitions, let’s begin with Rental Equipment Investment Corp (REIC). The Miami-based holding company announced the addition of Indian Peaks Rental this week.

REIC has acquired Tabernash, Colorado-based Indian Peaks Rental, a full-service general rental business providing a variety of equipment.

Headquartered in Tabernash, Colorado, Indian Peaks is a full-service general rental business providing a variety of equipment to the Grand County market, including earthmoving, material handling and compaction.

The purchase of the company is REIC’s eighth add-on acquisition since it was acquired by private investment firm Kinderhook in 2022, and its 20th since it was founded in 2014.

Also in Colorado, Herc Rentals has acquired All Rental Center

Based in Colorado Springs, All Rental Center is an independent equipment rental provider that operates two locations in the wider metropolitan area and the surrounding eastern plains of Colorado. Its fleet includes material handling equipment, generators, earthmoving, trenchers and air equipment and associated tools. It also provides sales of both new and used equipment.

Turning our attention to Europe, the evolving rental market was discussed by Martin Seban, director at KPMG, at the ERA Convention in Lisbon, Portugal earlier this month.

Seban presented a comprehensive analysis of the current market and future projections for the equipment rental sector, highlighting both challenges and opportunities.

He noted Europe’s GDP growth forecast for 2023-2024 has been revised downwards by 0.4 percentage points due to a number of factors.

It was a big week for equipment, as two major OEMs held “Demo Days” this past week.

Volvo CE revealed its biggest ever new equipment launch, showcasing a new lineup of both diesel and electric machines at its headquarters in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

For its part, Bobcat also held its 2024 Demo Days, but in Dobříš, Czechia, and it will run until June 5. Nearly 100 machines and innovations were featured, including the newly introduced M-Series S630 and S650 Stage V skid-steer loaders – developed for European markets.
