GAP and Kubota raise charity funds
14 December 2020
GAP Hire solutions and its excavator supplier Kubota have raised over £3000 for construction charity The Lighthouse Club. ‘Goldie’, a gold painted excavator, was behind the donation to The Lighthouse club, which supports construction workers and their families.
Gifted to GAP by Kubota in celebration of GAP’s 50th anniversary in business Goldie was a fixture of anniversary celebrations throughout 2019. The excavator was later hired out to GAP customers across the country, with half the revenue generated used to raise money for The Lighthouse Club.
Chris Parr, Chief Operating Officer at GAP, confirmed the company had earmarked 50% of the charitable hire revenue generated from Goldie throughout FY 2019/2020 to be donated to The Lighthouse Club. Kubota had also agreed to match the figure.
“Consequently, an overall sum of £3,040 has been donated by GAP and Kubota to the Lighthouse Club which will go towards funding the excellent and very important services that the charity makes available,” Parr said.
GAP has an established relationship with The Lighthouse Club, whose work supports the physical, mental and financial wellbeing support of construction workers and their families in the UK and Ireland. The charity provides a confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline and an app offering advice and guidance on wellbeing issues.
The company donates 0.5% of its annual profits to local, national and international charities through the GAP Giving foundation.
