GT Trax invests and shifts focus

10 December 2020

UK rental company GT Trax, which specialises in renting temporary roadways and flooring to the construction and events sectors, has made significant investments to its fleet, despite the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the outdoor events business.

The company has added 800 Power Tracks 20 temporary roadway plates – manufactured by Netherlands company GWW PRO – as well as a new Manitou MT 625 telehandler for handling the plates on site. The Power Tracks 20 are provide temporary roadways and ground protection on both hard and soft surfaces.

Graham Crisp, co-founder and Financial Director of GT Trax, told IRN; “As soon as we became aware that events were going to be decimated, we immediately changed our focus onto construction, and what a good move that was.

“Initially we did have to make some changes, but we are now almost back to where we were in January 2020, we’ve even added lots of kit to the fleet, upgraded our transport fleet to FORS, and bought a new site forklift truck.” FORS is the UK’s Fleet Operation Recognition Scheme, a quality scheme for transport.

“Although these remain demanding times, we took an early decision to continue our investment programmes by expanding the rental fleet and strengthening our onsite operations”, said Crisp.

“Gaining FORS accreditation was a challenge that was overcome by our transport team and we were delighted to gain this award at the first time of asking.”

GT Trax was created in 2005 by Graham Crisp and Trevor Tinker, the company’s managing Director. It rents temporary roadway systems, plastic ground protection plates, and crane outrigger pads, as well as crowd control barriers.
