HAE EHA appoints new chairman

Hire Association Europe and Event Hire Association (HAE EHA) has appointed Neil Bravery, the Managing Director of SHC Hire Centres, as Chairman of its Main Board.

Bravery, who has over 30 years of rental industry experience, takes over the role from outgoing Chairman Brian Sherlock of Brandon Hire Station. 

According to HAE EHA, during his career Bravery has held positions at rental sector company’s including Brandon Hire Station and Skipton Hire Centres in North Yorkshire.

He is described as “an active member of the Tools, Plant & Equipment Board since 2018” and is known in the UK industry for helping to lead develop the Digger & Dumper Safety Working Group, which aims to drive change across the industry and eliminate fatal accidents.

HAE EHA said, “Neil brings with him extensive experience, having been part of the Tools, Plant & Equipment Board and the HireTrain Committee. He also helped lead the development of the Digger & Dumper Safety Working Group which aims to drive change across the industry and eliminate fatal accidents.

“As HAE EHA looks onwards and upwards to the future, this new appointment brings with it exciting times ahead as the sector is set for a strong bounce back after the events of the last 18 months”.

The HAE EHA also praised its outgoing Chairman, Sherlock, who served on its board for the past three years. 

Commenting on his contribution to the rental trade body, the HAE EHA said, “The Association thanks Brian Sherlock for his hard work over the last three years, and it goes without saying that the last year and a half in particular has been one of the most challenging times for those working in the hire and events industries.”

While Sherlock has stepped down from the position of Chairan, he will now take up the post of Association President at HAE. 

In addition to the appointment of Bravery, the HAE EHA has also welcomed seven other new members onto its board, who are said to come from “a spectrum of hire and events related backgrounds”.
