As part of the acquisition, Cobemat will now operate as a HCME subsidiary under the new name of Hitachi Construction Machinery France (HCMF), while Cobemat’s rental division Cobeloc will operate as Hitachi Construction Machinery Rent France (HCRF).

All activities relating to MTS, another Cobemat subsidiary that was included in the deal, will be integrated into HCMF.

HCMF will be led by David Rodier, managing director of Cobemat, while announcements on the leadership positions for the rental business are expected in the near future and will be filled from within Hitachi Construction Machinery and HCME.

HCME President Takaharu Ikeda said; “We believe that these changes will only extend and strengthen our position and activities in the French market.

“We look forward to expanding our existing customer base and service capabilities, with a strong focus on our rental and used equipment programmes.”

The deal have Hitachi six new locations in north-west France, including the headquarters in Rennes.
