Hitachi to raise prices on ‘Premium Rental’ programme

Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCM) will make “modest increases” to the rental prices of its HCM Premium Rental business, it’s rent-to-rent programme in Europe. The increases will take effect in the fourth quarter of the year.

HCM Premium Rental allows customers to rent the latest construction equipment models by the month for up to a year.

The manufacturer has not said what the increases will be, but said the decision was in reponse to higher interest rates and the latest inflation figures for Europe (6.5%) and the UK (8.7%).

While the company had “been looking at ways to lighten the impact of rising costs on both dealers and customers”, Hitachi said that consistently high inflation levels meant the price hike had been “unavoidable”, but that it “acknowledges the impacts of rising prices on both its customers and dealer network”.

HCME President, Takaharu Ikeda, said: “We understand that this is a challenging time for our dealers and customers, but we are working hard to add value to their investments in Hitachi Construction Machinery, and are committed to being their first-choice solution provider.

“Additionally, one of the ways we can support our customers is through our finance and lease solutions, which are designed to meet their needs.”
