Kennards Hire makes board appointment

Andrea Martens, non-executive board director, Kennards Hire.

Australian rental company Kennards Hire has appointed Andrea Martens as non-executive board director.

Martens is the current CEO of Australian Association of Data-driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) and has previously held the role of Global CMO at Jurlique International.

She has also held a number of other board role appointments during her career, including with KMD Brands (Kathmandu and Rip Curl) and HyGain Co (owned by Adamantem Capital). 

Kennards Hire CEO Bill Whitehouse said of the appointment, “As Kennards Hire continues to grow and deliver quality products, expert advice and exceptional customer service across a broad customer base, Andrea’s understanding of consumer marketing, and her personal experience with family businesses, will be an exciting addition to our board.

Elsewhere, the company has announced that Kennards Hire also recently announced that Brendan Fleiter is to retire from its board after more than 10 years with Kennards Hire.

Fleiter joined the board in 2014 as a non-executive director and had held the chair position since 2016.

Whitehouse said that his contributions to the company “cannot be understated” adding that his leadership and guidance of the board during the [pandemic had seen Kennards Hire “stay true to its course and strategically grow its industry position.”

As of 1 September, non-executive director Margie Haseltine will assume the chair position, having previously joined the board in July 2022. Haseltime brings more than 30 year’s of experience to the role, holding a number of career serving in senior executive roles and on various boards in the process.

She is also the first Kennards Hire board female chair.
