20 June 2023
Loxam has announced the acquisition of Brazillian rental company Motormac Rental Locação Equipamentos. The deal wil double its revenues in the country.
The deal, which concluded in May and was carried out through its subsidiary Loxam Degraus, will see it assume full control of the company following successful purchases of Vellopar Participações, SPP Participações and TPA Participações.
The company, which was founded in 2007, is one of the largest rental businesses in the south of Brazil and rents powered access, power generation and lighting towers.
Headquartered in Porto Alegre, the company has nine branches in the Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo states and employs 170 people.
According to Loxam, the purchase doubles its revenue in Brazil and “further consolidates its presence on the Brazilian equipment rental market” where it now has 27 branches.
Simone Pitten Velloso, managing director of Motormac Rental, said, “We are very proud of what we have built with Motormac Rental, reaching the leading market position in southern Brazil, achieved through intense work and the development of a high level of credibility with its customers and employees.
“The companies are united by strong cultural synergies, and Loxam will strongly contribute to the growth of Motormac Rental by maintaining the reliability and the key ethical values that have always guided our company. From now on, our efforts will focus on distribution of equipments and renewable energies.”
Guilherme Boog, managing director of Loxam Degraus said the deal demonstrated the company’s strategy for growth in Brazil, adding that it aims to become a “leading national player” in the country.
Loxam president Gérard Déprez added, “The acquisition of Motormac Rental, which will be financed through Loxam’s own resources, demonstrates the Group’s commitment to continue its development in Brazil, a buoyant market with significant growth potential.
“Loxam is always pleased to welcome new colleagues, with whom to share mutual expertise and common ambition to continuously improve the services we provide to our customers.”
Since the turn of the year, Loxam has continued to expand through various acquisitions. In January it bought Portuguese rental company HR Equipamentos, while it acquired Jiab Hyrcenter from Jiab Fastighets AB through its Sweden-based subsidiary Ramirent AB in March.
