Loxam partners to power the Paris Olympics

Loxam and events specialist GL events have formed a consortium to provide power and temperature control rental services for the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics in Paris.

The two companies will deliver project management services, temporary power, uninterruptible power supplies and heating and cooling systems on all sites, including the international broadcast centre.

Gérard Déprez, President of Loxam, said; “Being an official supporter of Paris 2024 marks recognition of our know-how. Loxam is proud to contribute to the success of this global event in partnership with GL events and all our subcontractors.”

Olivier Ginon, Chairman and CEO of GL events, added; “The success of this consortium illustrates the strength and complementarity of our companies and our teams to provide the best solutions for this exceptional event.”

The two companies said that beyond their pride in contributing to Paris 2024, they were committed to monitoring the environmental impact and developing the wider legacy of their operations.

Temporary power will be used to back up the renewable electricity supply from the national electricity grid and the companies said they will favour equipment using high-performance biofuels or green hydrogen. They also committed to using small and medium sized companies in their supply chain.
