Manitou MLT 840 designed for agriculture

Manitou has launched a new telehander designed specifically for the agricultural market. The MLT 840 was previewed last year at the Agritechnica trade show (Hannover - Germany) in November 2011, it has a 4t capacity and a maximum lifting height of 8m.

Manitou said that agriculture, a strategic sector for the company: representing 33% of the Group's net sales in 2011. "With growth being generated at three levels: renewal of machinery, additions to machinery and the development of new uses and markets."

The MLT 840 has been produced in response to farmer's needs for greater productivity, comfort and performance.

Henri Brisse, vice president of sales & marketing, said: "Our machines have become indispensable for all farming applications. They must combine versatility with heavy use in very different environments and countries as well as by very different users.

"With an increased productivity of 13%, this brand new model responds to the needs of farmers for better performance and greater environmental friendliness."

The MLT 840 has a John Deere engine that meets the European Euro III B emissions standard. John was chosen because farmers a familiar with the brand and it offers the reliability and performance demanded by users.
