New Adapteo CEO to drive growth and sustainability
25 April 2022
Nordic accommodation rental company Adapteo has appointed Johanna Persson as its new President and CEO. She will take up the position on 27 June.
Persson was previously Chief Operating Officer of textile service company Elis, responsible for Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and the Benelux.
Prior to that, she was CEO for Berendsen Sweden and has also held several leadership positions in both Sweden and globally, at companies such as Nord-Lock and Duni.
She is Chairman of the Board at interior design products and services company Kinnarps Group.
Persson has been nominated for awards for her leadership and sustainability work. She was a finalist in the Sustainable Leadership 2020 and CEO of the Year 2018 programs. She was listed as Female Leader of the Future four years in a row between 2014 and 2017.
She takes the helm at Adapteo from acting CEO Teemu Saarela, who was appointed in early 2022 following the decision by previous CEO Philip Isell Lind af Hageby to step down.
Adapteo said her new role would align with the company’s goal “to become a driving force in sustainability” in the adaptable and circular building solutions market.
Jens Moberg, Adapreo’s Chairman, said, “Adapteo is on a growth journey, with numerous recruits and international establishments in the bag.
“The recruitment of Johanna gives us even better conditions to reach our goal of becoming Europe’s leading partner in adaptable buildings and a positive force for sustainability in our industry.
Persson commented, “Just like the textile industry, the construction and real estate sector is facing great climate challenges. With a circular business model and ambitious sustainability goals, Adapteo has great opportunities of driving the transformation that the industry needs.
“At the same time, we have an ambitious growth journey ahead of us and to succeed in that, we need to collaborate closely with customers, colleagues and suppliers.”
In late 2021, Adapteo appointed Ola Skogö to the newly created role of Head of Business Area Finland, Norway and Denmark, to support the company’s rapid growth.
Adapteo has grown rapidly in recent years, in part through key acquisitions, resulting in a building fleet equivalent to of 1.3 m square metres.
The group operates in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Lithuania. A majority of its revenue is generated by rental contracts from the public sector.
