New Bronto for UK window care

L&N Platforms, a powered access equipment provider based in Kent, England, has recently taken delivery of a new 38m working height Bronto S38XDT truck mount.

L&N’s team of six, which provides services across the South East of England, got its start when former Bronto operators Lee & Nicky (L&N), decided to begin their own window washing business. The first Bronto they purchased was a S34XDT aerial platform, and they’ve worked with Bronto Skylift ever since.

“When we’re cleaning windows, nine times out of ten we’re using the aerial at full outreach, full load, and often full height. The aerial is constantly under stress and strain, but we can put them through their paces,” said Lee Roebuck, Director, L&N Platforms

L&N’s work takes them across London and beyond, where they have to deal with densely packed buildings, obstacles and other challenges – even in the middle of the night.

Service for the equipment is provided by Bronto Skylift’s UK service partner Central Platform Services (CPS). “We get great backup service. I can always reach someone – and that’s just what we need, because we’re often out at one or two o’ clock in the morning. There’s always someone on the other end of the phone that can help,” said Roebuck.

Currently Lee & Nicky’s team shares a trio of Brontos for their wash-up work. That includes a S47XR, a S44XDT, which is under renewal, and the new S38XDT that replaced their previous 36 metre Bronto S36XDT aerial platform.

“We’ve never bought a stock unit – our Brontos have always been bespoke because we use them so much and we know exactly what we need. Bronto Skylift listens, and they fulfil,” added Roebuck.

L&N says it is eyeing further opportunities for growth after the renewal processes – but with there is no big rush. “We’re in the process of renewing our fleet, and then we’ll look toward expansion. But we’re taking each day as it comes. We’ve been happy with Bronto Skylift’s service, and we’ll keep coming back.”
