Point of Rental updates Essentials platform

Point of Rental Software has updated its cloud-based Essentials software and said that it will prioritise user experience and make the online rental process as easy as possible for customers.

The update allows users to search a rental business’s entire catalog and to compare products by both specs and price.

Consumers can also add sale or additional rental items and see what they’ve rented in the checkout process.

The company said an updated check-out process allows consumers to create an account, speeding up future rentals, or to check out as a guest.

They can also self-select pickup or delivery, how they’d like to handle returns and add any special requests.

Users can either request a quote or reserve an item, while if the business uses Point of Rental Pay, they’ll be able to pay online, the company said.

Point of Rental said early adopters of the update, which is currently only available for Essentials users, have seen rental add-on revenues jump 40% and cart abandonment rates drop since implementing the new web storefront.

It said users can easily adjust dates, see item availability and find related rental options, enhancing customer satisfaction.

Essentials’ product owner John Wooten said, “As ecommerce evolves, so do we. The new process aligns with standard ecommerce processes for retail businesses, making it easier for consumers to rent from our users.

Point of Rental said the new look will be available with its other products in upcoming months.
