Rotair launches new Gommair portable compressors

Italy-based Rotair has released three new models of Gommair portable compressors with ranges of 7bar, 11bar and 13bar operating pressures. The compressors can be fitted to mobile service vans for construction or equipment rental applications.

Rotair, a brand of ELGi Equipments Limited said that due to the compact size of the redesigned compressors, they are a versatile piece of equipment that can be transported at ease via a forklift, service van or trailer.

The compressors, which the company say is ideal for smaller applications such as tyre workshops, garages or cavity wall insulation, can also be used in construction and rental, because they can be mounted on service vans for mobile, in-field activity.

It also provides a “reliable and compact solution” to power bead injection tools used in the application of cavity wall insulation - a growing application use with the rise in energy efficiency targets and energy costs.

Versatility is also a key feature for the operating pressures, which can be changed via a pulley, and maintenance, which can be accessed via two removable panels.

The compressors incorporate Stage V compliant diesel engines from Yanmar, a screw airend from ELGi and a water-cooled compressor, resulting in a longer life-time.

Alex Persyn, director of product management at ROTAIR said: “The new Gommair portable compressors feature new, emission-standards compliant and quieter diesel engines and a new screw-type airend, bringing industrial quality to customers requiring dependable, flexible and efficient compressed air in their workshops or wherever their job takes them.”

According to the company, which also designs, manufactures and distributes multi-functional dumpers and hydraulic breakers, the robust design ensures that the Gommair offers a “quiet and efficient alternative to air-cooled piston compressors for applications where reliability, compact size, autonomous operation, manoeuvrability and ease of maintenance are important.”
